Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) is a pioneering conservation organization, dedicated to the protection and preservation of wildlife, with a particular focus on elephants and rhinos. Founded in 1977 by Dame Daphne Sheldrick in memory of her late husband David Sheldrick, a renowned naturalist and warden of Kenya’s Tsavo National Park, the trust has become a global leader in wildlife conservation and rehabilitation. The Nairobi Nursery is where an orphan’s journey begins. You will spend an hour interacting with the elephant orphan herd and learn more about the organization’s efforts to protect them and nurture them back to the wild.

Carnivore

You will then head for lunch to The Carnivore Restaurant, which is a legendary dining destination renowned for its unique gastronomic experience and vibrant ambiance. Since its inception in 1980, Carnivore has earned a reputation as one of Kenya’s most iconic restaurants. It is famous for its “Beast of a Feast” concept, where diners are treated to an endless selection of meats grilled to perfection on traditional Maasai swords over a giant charcoal pit. From succulent beef, lamb, and pork to exotic game meats like crocodile and ostrich, Carnivore promises a carnivorous feast like no other. As you indulge in the feast, skilled chefs circulate the restaurant, carving meat directly onto your plate until you surrender your flag in a gesture of satisfied contentment. To complement the mouth-watering array of meats, Carnivore offers an assortment of side dishes and accompaniments inspired by Kenyan culinary traditions.
